Hand Drafting
Hand drafting means using a pencil to create drawings and other visual representations. Techniques and industry standards learned while hand drafting transfer into CAD drafting. During hand drafting students learn about lettering standards, linetypes, lineweights, orthographic projection, multiview drawings, pictorial drawings, drafting tools, drawing layouts, sketching, dimensioning, and scaling.
Technical Drafting
Technical drafting involves drawing technical objects such as an engine part, a cog for a clock, or just a simple screw.
Architectural Drafting
In the Architectural unit, students learn about working plans sets, property line bearings, traffic flow, residential codes, and city setbacks. Students transfer floorplans, do a small remodel for a virtual client, and design a single story house from scratch.
